View Drop Bears
Drop bears are marsupials that are closely related to koalas, but unlike koalas they are carnivorous and are fantastic reasons for not going ‘bush’ on your own, unless you know the area very well.
There is a lot of stupid stuff on the net about them, largely attempting to make a mockery of their existence, but they truly are something for all tourists to be very wary about.
If you are thinking about spending a day in the Australian outback, always ask the locals about the local drop bear population. Be wary of any attempts by them to convince you that drop bears do not exist. If locals do this, they are clearly taking the piss. The last thing you want is a carnivorous marsupial landing suddenly on your head.
In a similar vein, hoop snakes are another threat you may want to keep in mind when planning your outback trip. Hoop snakes are highly poisonous snakes with a faster method of movement than most snakes (they grab their tail in their mouth and roll down a hill after you). Unlike drop bears, however, hoop snakes are not native to Australia
Lastly, if some joker tries to tell you that bunyips aren’t real, they’re a bloody liar!
