The British delicacy involving large sausages swimming in mashed potatos.  Any pub worth its ridiculously awesome name will shove the enormous phallic slabs of pig-etcetera into the bucket ‘o mashed potatos in such a way that they stick up like antnnae.  Then, when delivering them, will provide you with encouragement something along the lines of, “Roight, enjoy the bleedin’ ‘ell out if it, cock gobbla!”, which translates to, “Would you like to see the wine list?”.

Now, I’ve lived in England and Scotland, so I feel qualified to make the following observation:  The fact that the hearts of British and Scottish people don’t explode at random due to their collective diet is proof that there is a God who has his/her hand on a ‘smite’ button and that there will be no death until said button is pushed.  This dish is only one example of the gastric nightmare that awaits the naive tourist who wants to ‘experience the real Britain’.  Two other notables are blood pudding and haggis.
