You’d think the word thrombotic would have something to do with robots, or at least trombones (Man, that cat is thrombotic on that horn!) , but no, it’s just another one of those fancy doctor words about the body falling apart.
Or like those things in Dune they used to call the big sand monster things that sounded like “throm, throm, throm”
Oh yes, the giant sand worms. Pam wrote the funniest Dune parody ever, having Paul Atreides, as the prophet Maud’ Dib, answering telephone solicitations (if I remember correctly). I’m not going to try and find it right now. Maybe she can point us in the correct direction.
I’m trying to remember which young adult novel I read as a kid that had one smartalecky pre-teen say to another, “It’s no big deal. Don’t have a thrombosis.” I don’t think I’ve ever heard it, or a variant form of it, again until today.
