When I realized I had to calculate ratios, it was the moment of radical doubt; can this really be library school?

Oh, come on now.  Math is fun!  1 + 1 = ADVENTURE!  All you need to remember for ratios is that 1 divided by anything except 0 and itself is less than 1 and that number gets smaller and smaller until finally you go insane!  So easy!!

Also, if you try to divide anything by 0 the earth will fly off of its axis into oblivion.  So, you’ll want to be careful about that.

Personally, I believe that whole business about dividing by zero is similar, say, to the old belief that the world was flat, and will one day prove to be inaccurate.  Other than that, I wholeheartedly agree with Sir Math-a-Lot on this one.  Not only is math fun, but makes for an excellent weapon when rumbling with the local mathlete gangs.

I mean, come on, if Scrine is about anything, it’s about the tangential nature of thoughts and words.  Tangential?  Sounds like math to me!  I don’t even think I need to point out that the writing of a sentence is, after all, just another word problem.  More math!

heeee!  Honey, that reminds me of how I felt when I started to bake seriously:  Aw, hell.  Chemistry. Eventually, though, the radical doubt faded, and now I get a big kick of knowing just why puff pastry and pâte à choux work the way they do.  Maybe you’ll feel the same way once those ratios become old hat.
