The man had left something valuable under the tree. Maybe it was a pie.
Well, on the one hand, technically this counts as two sentences. On the other hand, it *is* Kotzwinkle, and it *is* about pie. That nails it. I officially love this, boot. :)
I sense a bear and a mountain.
That I have caused a book to be read 6000 miles away is indeed a strange superpower. But I like it.
Did someone say pie?
I’m actually only a third of the way through (she says realising she’s wasting precious reading time loitering over here), but I couldn’t wait to tell you it had arrived as I’m already totally besotted with Hal.
What an absolute delight. Thank you.
Also, your superpowers extend to forcing an Australian bookshop to ship in a book from the US just for me. Amazing!
Yes, Br. Ezra. There is also cake and icecream.
of course, it works both ways - you made me read that aussie kids book (mind totally blank)…
Did I? Um.
I hope it was Bottersnikes and Gumbles. Now, that’s a real kids book.
Oh, maybe it was Stormboy? Did you enjoy it, if so?
Ah, right. Stormboy. I did enjoy it. So did the kids. Now I’ve gotta track doen t’other.
It’s very much a young children’s book, but it is quite joyous. I just had a look at some of the prices for it secondhand (online). Insane! If you can’t find it in a library, I may just have to ship to you and you can ship it back.
I only found my copy after years of dusty second-hand book shopping. I know it was less than two dollars (sure as heck not over $100!)
