How to post a Scrinetunes entry

Only certain members have privileges to post to Scrinetunes, so these instructions may not apply to you.

1. In the Control Panel, select Scrinetunes as the weblog in the Publish tab.

2. Enter a title

3. Enter a brief one or two sentence summary. This appears on the Scrine main page.

4. Enter the body of your post. If you will be including any additional images or other song files, they will go here.

Note: if you include any additional song files in the body, you can have them automatically indent and space correctly by surrounding your song file with a small bit of code. The entire line would then look something like the following:

5. Enter as much of the following information as you know: Artist Name, Song Name, Album Name, and Year. These fields are not mandatory.

6. Use the upload button to upload the coverart for the featured song. No resizing is necessary, as long as the file is not gigantic. The image in the post will be resized automatically to fit the post.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you are uploading the image into the correct file and placing the link in the Cover Art field. It must go into the file named: SOTD Cover Art.

7. In the Song File Link field, place the code for the song file itself. It will look something like the following:

IMPORTANT: The link name of the file uploaded must match exactly the name place here, so watch out for uppercase/lowercase differences. The song file can have spaces in the name, but no spaces are allowed after the .mp3 part of the file.

8. If you have any additional information that you’d like viewable by Scrine members only, enter it into the Private Field.

9. ENTER NOTHING IN THE RATING FIELD.

10. Last but not least, choose a category for your song. This is what shows on the page as the genre for the music. If you don’t see a category you need, feel free to create one by clicking Edit Categories. Then click Create a New Category, enter the Category Name and any parent it needs to fall under (if necessary-not required), then hit Submit. Once the next screen pops up, click Close Window and Update Categories and your new category will be available to use in your post.
