After months of dry, out of the blue came the grey, and with it rain, rain, rain.  So much rain, that it brought mixed blessings.

Rain that rushed in rivulets.  Puddles too big for jumping.  Rain that pounded on roofs and reverberated under bridges.

Roses were gasping and burnt, their heads turned up to the sky.

People turned up to the sky with them. 

Spontaneous laughter and shared umbrellas.  Conversations with strangers about smells and a sense of joy.

Now, 40 more days and nights just like this one, if you will.
